I am very surprised to hear that someone told you that recommendations are not encouraged at FSU for spring recruitment. I would encourage you to get recommendations lined up for as many sororities as you can. While the Greek life office will not know now which chapters will have space available spring semester, you should hedge your bet and start working now on recs. if a chapter does not need to rush in the spring, but they receive recommendations, they will simply discard them.
