Its also no secret of the anomosity between your group and some of the others on our campus.

I apologize for indirectly, yet directly accusing your org of the theft of the banner, w/out proof. I shouldnt have done that. My above post has been edited.

I do think it is symbolic of the frustration many members of our greek community feel about a group that at times, has failed to live up to community standards. All of us fail to meet those standards at times, we're imperfect humans in imperfect orgs. What I dont think members of your org realize is that most all of the fraternities busted their ass to get you all on campus. Tons of us worked countless hours, because we believed in, and continue to believe in the expansion of our greek community. We sent tons of letters, sat through countless hours of expansion meetings and presentations. It was down to three groups, (after KA pulled out at the last minute) Delta Sig, SAE and Pike. Delta Sig got the nod because they had been working very hard since '96 to expand to our campus after the successful expansion to SWT in the early 90's. I even attended a reception with your national officers at your national convention here in SA when ya'll were looking to expand. I have tons of respect for the national org, and it was with much anticipation and excitement that your expansion team was welcomed to campus. Hell, we (IFC member fraternities) helped recruit your founding fathers. We believed and still do in Delta Sig at our school.

It then gets frustrating when recruitment policies are violated, slurs are aired and individual members behave in a less than fraternal manner. Unfortunately, as you know, the actions of a few reflect on the whole. I have heard from a few groups on campus who have been dissapointed with the status of things.

I am not saying that your, or any new group should come to the established chapters on bended knee. We were all just taken aback when the new members of your org came out with what seemed to us a "fu*k ya'll" attitude, after the work we had put in to get you here. Thats just not how it was done on our campus. It disapoints me to hear comments from other members of our communitylike, "damn. Wish we wouldda chosen Pike." Thats not right. I dont regret our decision. ALL of us want to help. Ya'll were welcomed into our greek community. We do want you here. We all believe in the incredible gift that is fraternity and sorority. We want to help in any way possible. We want to see you charterd. Maybe the upshot of this is that all our groups can come toghether for a better understanding of our backgrounds and respect each others differences and celebrate our commonalities.

PM me if you want.
