My dad is native to Brooklyn so I've been there a few times-if you do go to Brooklyn then Cuccio's Bakery has delicious cookies and L & B Spumoni Gardens has delicious pizza. If you do feel strangely compelled to drive the 3+ hours out to Rhode Island, for some reason, I can recommend lots of fun things to do there too.

My dad is native to Brooklyn too! Bensonhurst and Carroll Gardens/South Brooklyn. We loved going to Spumoni Gardens!
If you can make it to Prospect Park, Cataldo's on Vanderbilt and Dean has the best pizza. They were on an episode of A Stand Up Mother on WE, and they also have an amazing niece in Detroit who is a Phi Mu
