Even though I know this show is being "creatively edited," there is only so much MTV can do with editing...all that stuff happened. If you spend five hours a day on your hair, booty dance at the bar, and drink like a fish...that's right folks...MTV is going to portray you as the house lush/wild child/tramp! And if you study and behave, you're going to be portrayed as the butt-kisser/boring one/odd man out...or you'll just be left off camera like Dede.
Does this stuff happen? Of course it does! We can probably relate 80% of it to our own chapters. My issue with the show is its context. Following the pledge process of six girls who you stick in an MTV house is not a portrayal of sorority life. You could film a show in a dorm with all these same rules and watch the same thing we're watching under the guise of a "sorority documentary."
