Do I need a rec for every single sorority?? Anyway, I currently have a 3.5 GPA and am involved in campus ministry (Christian/community service) Fashion Inc. club, photography club, dance and orchestra. I also horseback ride but not through school. Are these activities helpful/impressive at all? Should I consider joining another specific club(s)? Also, are my chances significantly lower since I will be a sophomore rushing in the Fall? I think I will be at school for 3 and a half to four years since most of my design credits will not transfer. Would I still be considered a "sophomore" at that point? Any other tips for rushing as a sophomore would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help!

Oh and no one in my family is Greek.
Yes, you would still be considered a sophomore. Being a sophomore is more challenging, but there are women who get bids there as upperclassmen.

I will say though, that upperclassmen need to be more open minded than say, your average freshman PNM. There are chapters who for whatever reason, are less likely to take sophomores. You need to be ok with that, and understand that (for example) Phi Beta Popular is not going to be as interested in you as they would a freshman. And if they are going to take a soph, it's likely the sophomore who knows a lot of members. However, that doesn't mean you cannot get a bid. It just may not be to the most popular group on campus.

Our big UGA thread from last year may answer some of your questions.
