My husband and I had to venture out today. Our street had not been plowed, nor had our driveway. The husband had fun trying to maneuver his SUV into the garage when we got home. If we'd taken my car, it would be sitting in a snowdrift right now. (For the record, that "use kitty litter for traction" thing does not work.)

And we're supposed to get ANOTHER 3-5" of snow and ice tonight, on top of the foot of snow that fell last night and today. I'm trying to convince my husband to telecommute tomorrow.

Fortunately, we will still be able to have a nice romantic Valentine's Day dinner. Restaurants are so often jammed on Valentine's Day, and many of them offer overpriced prix fixe dinners, so, even before we knew how severe this storm was going to be, we picked up the ingredients for apple risotto. A candlelit dinner with risotto and a nice bottle of wine ... heaven
