Spring Rush - Bid Signing Confusion

I go to LSU and I've signed up for formal spring rush (Feb. 4-5), but last night went to a rush party with a fraternity that I've been talking to.

I was having a good time and was really drunk when the president and rush chair pulled me aside and gave me a bid. They said it was "non-binding" even if I signed, so easily convinced drunk me signed without thinking

Don't get me wrong, I love these guys and they're a top pick for me but I want to go through formal rush and check out some other houses. I texted the rush chair today and he said I'm still able to go through rush, but I'm a little confused because isn't signing the bid basically agreeing to pledgeship?

Any advice would be appreciated, I feel like an idiot. Am I locked in now? Would there be a way to nullify the signing if things don't go well?

Sorry if I come off as ignorant, I'm just not very familiar with the way the process works.
