Here's how Sapphire Sister's went at my school (i say went bc I think they are altering a little bit of it this year...i an alum, so i don't know what they are doing)....
On the last day of recruitment, we invited all ladies interesting to a Sapphire Ball. Here, the sisters chatted with the potentials and got to know them for the last time (this event was mandatory to make sure all sisters had a chance to meet every potential). After the potentials leave, the sisters decide who gets in. All sisters who want to become a Sapphire Sister submit a form stating their top 3 choices of who they want to become their little. The next day, the potentials are given their bids and asked to come to the next meeting. The following week, (starting on Monday) the ladies who accepted their bids begin receiving presents. Clues are given about the big, but no one is to tell anyone who has who if they know. About a week or so later, at a meeting, the sisters create a maze with yarn for the PNM to follow. The ladies each start at one end of the yarn, and after unraveling it (trust me, it's hard cause it's looped around lamps, couches, and tables) the meet their big at the end! It is a lot of fun to watch and the ladies have so much fun finding out who their Big is! This evening is known as Sapphire Sister night (or formerly Big/Lil Night).
The evening before the PTM get initiated, we have something called Inspiritation Eve. This is a night to get the PTM excited about being initiated. Last fall, we went on a Hayride and to a Haunted house since Halloween was just around the corner. After all of this, the littles give their bigs paddles. The next morning, after initiation, the bigs give their little more presents, and this is usually the time when the New Members are given their first set of letters and a lavilier.

Please note, we are the only Greeks on campus, so we don't have to obide by many of the rules that others do. I have heard of "dirty rushing," and I have NO CLUE what that means or if these rules infringe upon it. But, I hope it's helpful to you and your chapter. Feel free to email me at
