In response to the numerous IU alumnae who claim that 100+ person pledge classes are too big: are you ever going to be close friends with more than 10 or so women from your pledge class anyway? I had about 70 in mine and now at my alma mater I think pledge classes are in the 80s somewhere, though it does fluctuate.
You people want 45 person pledge classes in order to be elite at the expense of hundreds of girls who will have to forlornly roam IU's campus seeing you in your letters, like I did until I wised up and transferred. I know you'll all claim that there's more to IU than being greek, but guess what, you ARE greek and have no idea what it's like to desperately be on the outside looking in. Joining clubs and other organizations is a valid pursuit of time while in college, but you're kidding if you think it's a replacement for greek life.
