Remember that to many of us our membership is truly FOR A LIFETIME, but for others it's 4 years of fun and memories and that's all. It would seem unlikely for a president to feel that way, but who knows? She might not have any negative feelings at all about giving it away/selling it because it really didn't mean that much to her. Not saying that IS the case, just that there are a variety of reasons why a person may surrender her quill, some sad and some merely apathetic.
