I would say totally depends on the organizations represented as well. Alpha Sigma Tau allows non member advisors as well. But I know not all do.

There also may be opportunities within the Greek Life Office as well. I know when I was in grad school, while I advised a chapter of my organization, it was an hour and a half away and the school I went to didn't have my org. I did befriend some people who worked in the GLO however and often volunteered to help at things like MRABA signing, and judging homecoming competitions as a way to get my fix!
