 If a PNM is offered alcohol at one of these parties, yes, I'd say it is a test. Not a test of chasteness/purity but likely a test of how one can handle oneself w/or w/o alcohol in social situations.   Please stop nervous nelling that "OMG GIRLS ARE DRINKING BEFORE THEY ENROLL AND OMG THEY ARE DOOOOOOOMED".  If y'all think a PNMs sorority bid fate rests solely on this criteria, you are naive.

 As was mentioned frequently upthread, Josh Fraternityguy hanging out too much with our rushee can create far more of an issue come invite time than her hanging out too much with Johnnie Walker.  It's not just the drinking people are concerned about, it's the volatility of everything in a social situation in general.
