Miss New York Nina Davuluri won the Miss America pageant on Sunday night in Atlantic City, N.J., making her the first Indian American to win the contest. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Davuluri was initiated into the Alpha Tau Chapter at Michigan State University and later transferred to the Alpha Mu Chapter at the University of Michigan.Hometown: Syracuse, New York Age: 24 Education: St. Joseph High School/University of Michigan Platform Issue: Celebrating Diversity through Cultural Competency Scholastic Ambition: To attend Medical School to become a Physician.
