About half way through the bid day activities, she told my daughter she was very sad to say that she was not really going to accept her bid as her parents had made it clear to her before pref parties they could not afford the expense of a sorority. My daughter was stunned and the pledge clearly upset she can't continue. My daughter feels terrible for this girl, but very upset that this pledge took the spot of a girl who really wanted to be in her sorority. I know Panhellenic and every sorority make the financial commitment very clear at the get go, but I know this still happens and it's a lose-lose for everyone involved. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it somehow works our for all parties involved.
What a shame for all concerned. I hope that everything works out so that the new member can remain a member.

And congratulations to GreenTeaGirl on her Sigma Kappa bid!
