Well I am going to take a shot at this one. Phi Sig was the first sorority to let in anyone without restrictions of religion or background. The 10 founders were all of different religions and beliefs and they all couldn't join the same sorority but they wanted to be together. So they made their own, Phi Sigma Sigma
