I've seen it both ways. For lessons on the problems with spring or what we call deferred formal Recruitment check out the SMU or Indiana recruitment threads. For recruitments as huge as the SEC, before classes start or early on is not only more sane, it conflicts with school less. There is also less time for hurt feelings.
