They have "stolen" a good number of kids I know away from typically "southern" schools - several that had been attended by many family members such as Sewanee. When Dr Witt got there several years back his intention was to increase the student body and to recruit tops students. One year we had more National Merit scholars than any other school in the country. It's a different world today.
