Sometimes alumnae make a FB post on the APH page about trying to help a PNM find someone to write a rec for a missing group...no response. All the recs I've written have been for women attending school in a southern state.

Recs just aren't big around here, and there is little acknowledgement of the worth of a rec written by someone who doesn't personally know the PNM. The chapter I advise gets less than a handful each year.
Had to look at the name of the poster twice since I could have written this. For the last several years local young ladies have contacted out National Headquarters in desperation to find a recommendation. The message gets forwarded to our Alumnae Chapter President/Co-Presidents who in turn contact members who live near the PNM. I have written several recommendations for young women who have been in contact with me this way. All of them were attending southern schools. We have an active Alumnae Panhellenic Association but they do not seem to actively write recommendations as they do not have members from all 26 groups and here in So CA recommendations are not as big a deal as they are in the south.
