The SEC's a great conference. The Big 10 and Pac 10 I'll have to say are seriously lacking in talent when matched up to conferences like SEC or Big 12.

This season I would say that the Big 12 is probably a little more competitive than the SEC. I can see maybe 1 or 2 teams (Alabama can't play in a bowl due to their infractions) that could possibly contend for a national championship.

In the Big 12 however, you have Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado who are REAL contenders (and they all play eachother this season). You also have a couple of longshots with K-State (which I think is being overlooked as usual) and Nebraska (no one really knows how this Lords guy is going to work out...). Texas A&M is also a top 25 team but really has yet to make a great showing in this powerful conference. You also have Texas Tech which has a great QB with Kliff Kingsbury and yes... We should say that it's the Big 11... Baylor in its entire history with the Big 12 has yet to win a game in conference -- of course they show that they're a good team when they win most of their non-conference games.

Iowa State, Ok State and Kansas no one can say from year to year. They usually have poor seasons but usually do pretty well in their non-conference games.

SEC has Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama (plays an away game AT Oklahoma [good luck!]). I think their only real chance at a national title comes from Florida State who looks to be a real contender this year.

It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.
