Well the day after her fall she felt really bad so my dad took her to the hospital--they did an MRI and x-rays that showed nothing so they sent her home with a pulled muscle. They waited a few days and started on their way down here. It was a rough trip, but they got about 3/4 of the way when she felt something snap. They went to the ER and the ball had broken off of her femur. So she's just had partial hip replacement surgery. (No cruise for her, obviously!) She's not doing so well... she's really weak and her blood pressure is low. They gave her a blood transfusion last night, but she's not been able to do much as far as physical therapy. I went up there a few days ago, but my husband and I are still planning on leaving for the cruise. They are going to try to transfer her down here to Melbourne (about 4 hours from where she is now) for her physical therapy. That way my dad won't have to be in a hotel for weeks... but we really need some prayer. I feel horrible about going on the cruise but they are both insistent, and I really need the break.
She's had such a crappy year. My dad had left her earlier this year for another woman that he'd been cheating with for 4 years (he ended up coming back in 3 days). She took him back. She also has severe Rheumatoid Arthritis. As in a 17 is considered high on the RA scale, and hers is 400+. That complicates things. I'm worried she's just going to have a pity party (not that she isn't entitled) and not get it together mentally for physical therapy.
Sending prayers!
