Yes.

As far as I'm concerned, college graduation is a PARTY. I WILL have, Hawaiian leis & beach balls for my fellow graduates, and air horns but to be used at the end of the ceremony.

I agree and this being
ME I feel like this:
Since I've struggled all of this time to finish, I have friends and family members who are by my side but aren't able to help me financially and cheering for me is their way of showing me their love and support for all of the CRAP I've had to deal with and am still dealing with, then I say BRING IT ON

but wait till it's my turn and then when the announcer says the next name, shut it up!

My friends will cheer

but not start a riot. We can riot at the after party!

Honestly, I don't like sitting in a hot, stuff auditorium while a million people graduate. I get that the ceremony is long and boring and you want to "maintain the dignity of the ceremony." But if Big Mama's dignity is crossing the stage today, let her holler. Aside from the people who act up just to do so, I do understand that, after how long and hard the students (and often their families) worked to get to that moment, it's too special to be rushed.
