In the South, it's unlikely to affect numbers at all, especially at the big schools. Rush is just what you "do".
Also, there was a baby boom in 1984. When I gave birth to/adopted the twins, everybody and their mom had a baby too. I've read a zillion articles about how nationally, that age group is the "bulge in the snake" or whatever that term is...it's sure true around here because school classes and activities have always been packed for that age group.
At Valdosta, rush numbers are up and so are school numbers. We've already been sent a letter offering to release the girls from the required freshman dorm contract because of overcrowding.
