Actually, Richard M. and Robert B. Sherman wrote "Let's Go Fly a Kite" (as well as all of the other songs in "Mary Poppins"). Disney requested the song because of his daughter's Theta connections -- he first discovered P.L. Travers'
Mary Poppins when she was reading it.
BTW, Theta connections are also why Marlo Thomas flew a kite in the opening of "That Girl."
