I don't know if any of you that use Revolution are open to another opinion, but I very strongly discourage the use of Revolution. In my experience, it is not as safe or effective as any of the ORAL heartworm prevention. It does nothing for hookworms, roundworms, or whip worms, some of which are transmittable to people from dogs and are microscopic. These intestinal worms are easily picked up by dogs on walks or at the dogpark.
It does treat for ear mites and demodex mange... but why treat for those when you know that your dog does not have them?

I'll keep that in mind for our new lab puppy. Before her, we've only ever had pugs who prefer to stay indoors (i.e. sleep) and hate going outside

We've just switched vet's and they don't offer Revolution, so we'll probably have to change it anyway.
