Rider was a two year institution until the mid 1950s & had chapters of three junior college sororities, As those organizations began to disintegrate nationally during the late 1930s & 1940s their chapters began to operate as locals...some changing to new names and others, like Rider, retained the original names. In 1967 the Sigma Iota Chi group joined Alpha Xi Delta, Zeta Mu Epsilon joined Delta Zeta & Eta Upsilon Gamma joined Zeta Tau Alpha. Also interesting, Iota Alpha Pi (a now defunct sorority) which competed with NPC groups at most institutions, installed a chapter at Rider in 1947 while it was still two year. It left the national organization and became local in 1955 and in 1962 became a chapter of Delta Phi Epsilon. All of the above NPCs except DZ are still active today.
