COB will work differently depending on the university. Your best bet to get correct answers to your questions is to contact the greek life office at your school.
Some may have open events that are advertised. Some may have registration with the greek life office. Some may only have invitation only events that they invite their friends to.
To have a successful cob experience, be yourself, make friends, keep your grades up.
