OK, that's a lot different than your original post. First, do everything you can to salvage that D (if it's not too late - I don't know when your finals are), but if you really do end up with 2 A's, your GPA should end up fine. Then, do the things mentioned above. Do let your sorority member friends know you are interested in rush, let the Greek Life office know you're interested, and keep an eye on the DI and/or Facebook pages for further information.
If it doesn't go well and you think it might be because of grades, you can try again next fall. And do keep in mind that you're not going to have a big list of sororities from which to choose. You may have to take a chance on a sorority by gut instinct, and there's nothing wrong with that. Just because a chapter isn't at total doesn't mean they don't have a lot to offer.
