It's the GPA that counts. They don't weight based on the importance or difficulty of the class. If you are literal when you're saying you just passed on a couple classes, your GPA is probably not going to be sufficient. Grades are EXTREMELY important. You can ask the Greek Life office, or check the chapter averages. That doesn't necessarily speak to their requirements, but if their average is a 3.0 and yours is a 2.5, I would not plan on getting any invitations.

If your grades are not good enough, and presuming you're a freshman, wait until next fall and make sure you get your grades up as much as you can. 1 bad semester at the beginning is easy to repair with a full load of very good grades. Pledging as a sophomore shouldn't be a huge problem at UofI.
