Plane Crash Victims Have Close Texas Greek Ties

A plane crash on Saturday killed four people with close connections to Texas A&M University.

Two teenage boys, their father and uncle were killed when their Beechcraft Bonanza plane crashed east of Dallas on the way to the Texas A&M game in Mississippi.

Leonard Ledet was the pilot of a plane with Aggie fans headed to the Texas A&M-Ole Miss game in Oxford on Saturday. His single-engine plane crashed near Terrell, east of Dallas, killing all on board. He was just 60 years old.

The well-known dentist from the Dallas suburb of Southlake was a husband, and father of four.

His 13-year-old and 17-year-old sons were with him in the plane. So was his brother, 62-year-old Gregory Ledet.

Ledet was also a brother to hundreds. He was the founding member of the Sigma Chi fraternity at Texas A&M University.

One of Dr. Ledet's daughters is a junior at Texas A&M University and a member of Zeta Tau Alpha. His other daughter is a Pi Beta Phi at the University of North Texas. A candlelight vigil for the family was held in front of the Zeta house in College Station last night.
