We can't tell you why you were not invited back, and quite frankly you probably don't want to know.
Ask your recruitment advisors to explain COB and spring rush to you if you don't understand them (people you know > people on the interwebz). you can certainly choose to keep pursuing the favorite chapter that released you, but I think you would be wise to direct your energy elsewhere.
