What you described is consistent with what Ole Miss PNMs and their moms I know from my state have said as well.
I agree about the shorts -- my dd did as yours did on that round (and actually some other rounds as well, lol). Lots of good advice and tips there, newgreekmommy (just be careful about posting specifics regarding your daughter's chapter).
