Politicians' political opinions matter more than their personal relationships.
I agree with the point being made. However, this point seems random and unwarranted when applied to Paul Ryan--what has he said or done to warrant being used as an illustration for this point? Anyway, "so-and-so dated a (insert demographic) person" is just as dumb as "some of my bestfriends are (insert demographic)". Neither means very much when it comes to sociopolitical views.
