I have yet to respond here, but I've made my way through the entire thread and have finally formed an opinion based on everything I've read...

Looking for someone to blame? The OP should cover her butt?

This isn't the scandal of the century. And the OP has already discussed this with others, including the Dean herself. If this is against some rule, and word gets out, the Dean will ultimately pay the price.

The OP will not be the focus of the issue.

When she brought up her concern and it was not taken any further, then the OP carried out her moral duty. The OP did all she could, and should, do.

.....

Also, as much as we honor and respect our greek membership, and as much as it is important to us, as far as a College / University is concerned, other than RM issues, Greek Life is not high on the priority list. A College/University can completely eliminate Greek Life and the school will still operate.
This! Even the other people on this panel who helped to hire this person brushed it off like it was nothing.

Those who aren't Greek probably don't care too much. They most likely didn't even know what the OP was talking about when she expressed her concerns. There are many immoral things a person can do, and joining two different Greek organizations probably comes in at # 235,392 on the Most Horrific list.

If in the future, this in some way negatively affects the Dean's ability to perform her job, then yes, the OP should escalate the issue. However, for now, I think she should keep quiet.
