I've definitely heard my share of horror stories about ELCs. I do agree, sometimes there are brothers out there that will let the power go to their head, like "Schneggie".
I was just talking about the things I've heard from Brother Helmbock in the meetings we've been in with him. They are making a strong effort to get rid of the "policing" ELCs and bring in guys who will really consult. Of course, a few will slip through the cracks every so often.
