HAHA! I just found out yesterday what GDI means...one of my sisters swore that it was another fraternity! (I'm so easily fooled!)
Up until then, I had only heard of "non-greeks" or Independents....I think I prefer GDI, though! Ps, she told me it stood for Gamma Delta Iota!
