I checked the book out from the library. I'm maybe 100 pages into it.

The date rape parts really annoy me and the fact that the girls don't report it because god forbid that their house is outed by the fraternity house with the brother that raped her. Really. It really boggles my mind that the sisters are more interested in keeping up appearances than dealing with date rape. But she could have easily exaggerated this.

I agree with what others say about philanthropy. She doesn't get it. The chapter I used to advise started a "fun run" for RMH 2 years ago. It took quite a lot of time for the RVP and Philanthropy chair to plan and coordinate. They had to get the school to okay it, get police and emergency services at the school (where the run was held) the day of the run, get volunteers (sisters) for the run, order shirts, get people to register for the run (via advertising). I'm not sure how much money was made but planning a philanthropy like this cannot be done all the time (like every semester). Plus, when the philanthropy gives a reward of some kind, that takes away some of the budget (unless the prize was donated). Major philanthropies for chapters are usually only done once a year because of the planning involved. I'm not a DG but doesn't Anchor Splash only occur once a school year?
