The school has never been confirmed, but one of the schools that was considered was my alma mater. As I read the book years ago, much of it did sound familiar. There are quite a few details in the story that are very indicative of my campus at that time. Also, during the time the author would have been writing the book, she was spotted on my campus in the journalism building and even spoke to a group of journalists. The Robbins sightings seemed a little too convenient for it not to be my school. But I also wondered later if she had used a couple of different schools and made composite characters. Who knows?
