I blame my fear of being murdered and/or kidnapped on the fact my parents let my overly intelligent young self watch far too much Unsolved Mysteries, Rescue 911, and America's Most Wanted. Now I feed that fear with a little too much Criminal Minds.
Fears of normal things though: spiders, deep water (I'm an awful swimmer), and falling from something tall (wooden rollercoasters and turbulence on plane rides are HELL)
