When I saw this earlier, it screamed "creative writing exercise", and now with the ridiculously unnecessary "cliffhanger", I'm pretty convinced it is.
This is one of those cases where "the rules" for writing your rush story really apply. Don't start your story if you "don't have much time" and either way, it's best to type the whole thing before you start posting. Break it up over several posts to differentiate days/rounds/whatever, but not to be a drama queen over an extended period.
