It is in the sorority's best interest to have an active representative in the AP - I have had luck with contacting HQ and asking for help in getting a rep. I've also had luck posting on GC looking for one!
If this alumna is not willing to put forth the effort or the money ($10!), I agree that the best thing is to allow pnms to contact her themselves, if you are unable to find another representative.
To provide a general answer to Dr. Phil - GKAP, like most APs, provides a variety of spring activities which give our Katy women the information and support they need to have a successful recruitment. We also provide information to parents and award scholarships - 4 this year. We support each other in our sororities' philanthropic activities.( I sent my check in for the Phi Mu event supporting the Children's Miracle Network today.) Watch the "Who is rushing" thread to see the kind of results we get. Our pnms go into recruitment prepared!
