On Real World and Road Rules, MTV (no matter how much they deny it) "cast for conflict." That's how you end up with the Mormon from Utah, the playa from Philly, the rich bitch from California and the homosexual from Arkansas. On this show, just by virtue of the fact that 1) they're all female and 2) they are all going to the same college, ergo probably all around the same social class, there will be less drama.
I think the only people watching, really, are Greeks and girls who are thinking about going Greek. Once all the high school boys (MTV's target audience) found out that "sorority" didn't mean "big-boobed blondes having naked pillow fights" I'm sure they turned it off in droves. This also applies to men with a high school mentality, by the way.
It sounds to me like Jordan was saying things like "I'm only wasting my time with this crap to be on MTV" - but of course that is not going to be on television - you have to read between the lines.
