Serious:
Langston Hughes during the period that he was transitioning from having a white patron to becoming fully artistically independent- I can only imagine how it must have felt for someone THAT talented to finally be free to explore his art the way he wanted to, despite the risks.
My great grandmother Malu- I have heard soooo much about this woman all my life how strong she was, wise and loving. I just wish I could have KNOWN her, and figured out how she did it!
Facetious:
Janet Jackson circa 1997- when all the men in the world fully reallised how fine she was, and she was at the peak of her I can have anyone, anywhereness. Right before she lost her mind with the piercings and whatnot.
Jean-Jacques Messier- the frenchman who controls like 25% of the media in America through Vivendi. The opportunity to control the media for even a WEEK in this country...ooooh there would be some CHANGES around here!
Sumner Redstone- owner of Viacom- BET would have some seeeeerious changes to make. I would also just love to make Bob Johnson my biatch, lol.

It may be said with rough accuracy that there are three stages in the life of a strong people. First, it is a small power, and fights small powers. Then it is a great power, and fights great powers. Then it is a great power, and fights small powers, but pretends that they are great powers, in order to rekindle the ashes of its ancient emotion and vanity.-- G.K. Chesterton
