There is a very high-kill shelter south of Chicago, and the group I love, Small Paws Rescue, Inc visits there with great regularity. SIX bichon frises were saved just today! But I digress...

A bichon got hit by a car, and somehow, managed to get back to his house. What went down there, heaven knows, but the dog wasn't taken to the vet or treated at all! The poor thing got out, and got lost, ending up in a shelter (not the one above), and they automatically scanned for a microchip. It had one! But when they called the house, the woman said it was her daughter's dog, and she never did like the dog. At least there's a happy ending - he made it into the Small Paws Witness Protection Plan, has been vetted (two broken ribs, one broken leg), and has been adopted. His age? One and a half!

I just don't understand people...
