I really like this idea. I think that everyone has at least one teacher from all their years in school that made a difference academically speaking. For me, it was my eighth grade English/Social Studies teacher. She had previously taught high school English, so that is what she taught us. We had a reading list of 15+ novels (I found the actual list a few years ago). I also had to write a 20 page term paper with full bibliography and footnotes. Even though my mom did the typing and the editing, it made freshman English easy and I never had any problems with reading or writing in the future. Math was another story ...
