That was the second thing I thought of (the first obviously being abuse). It may not even be intentional on the part of the parents--I know what I was able to look at, read, etc. without my parents being the wiser. It could have been something as innocent as having walked in on parents doing that. Obviously in that event there should be follow up that it's a private, adult thing to do...but things happen.

I really hope it's not abuse but that's probably exactly what happened.
