this is how i view the situation:
alliance or not, SIGMA GAMMA RHO and IOTA PHI THETA have this much in common:

we both are organizations of men and women who were not afraid to step outside of what is popular or "in" or part of the majority...

we are organizations built of people who have enough heart to decide to be the decided minority--- we could have been anything that we wanted to, but we chose to take paths less traveled...
lets be real about it: it is HARD to be a SIGMA GAMMA RHO or an IOTA in our sphere of greek society: we have to work harder just to be recognized and more profoundly, commended for our accomplishments; we have become accustomed to representing as if there were 50 of us on the yard only when there are 10 of us, but still holding it down to the fullest; we are men and women who didn't have to be down with what everybody else was trying to do just to feel like we were pledging an organization that was worth our efforts...
we have this much in common:
we may be the youngest, lesser acknowledged, and lesser appreciated, but we are STRONGER because of what we chose...
i do think SIGMA GAMMA RHO doesn't have it as hard to the same degree as IOTA(we are some 40 years older)but we,for the most part are in the same boat...
we need to appreciate that. i commend the brothers of iota phi theta because i can relate! i think our alliance lies there-- although sometimes seen as being "on the bottome", we always RISE TO THE TOP!
