AXO Alum - I'm hearin' ya on the flip flops. It's pretty casual here in the Northwest, but after a recent (dressy) event at a house where a lot of sisters were wearing flip flops, the alums (including those in their 20s, not just the "old ladies") were HORRIFIED! "Back in my day, we had to wear hose," "What were they thinking?" etc. My chapter was more casual - the other alums were surprised to hear that we wore our Quills with khakis - but still, you don't want to frighten the alums and/or parents!
And it's true - dress for the a/c blasting in the house, not the hot sun outside.
