I thought it was cool that SMU invited the PNMs to wear their favorite SMU T-shirt OR the provided one. It still lowers the stress level for the PNMs like an assigned shirt, but they have more leeway to pick something they feel comfortable in and that says something about them. You could wear your "SMU Tennis" or "SMU Concert Choir" shirt; that would be memorable. And of course, skip any colors that make you look seasick.
