Also, depending on which schools you may be applying to, recommendations may not be super crucial. I wouldn't recommend that you post the schools you are considering, but as a general rule of thumb: schools in the southeastern part of the US + Texas, you have to have recommendations. Schools in the western and northeastern parts of the US, recommendations are not so crucial. Before any GC'ers get all bent out of shape with me for saying this: This is only a very general rule of thumb, there are always exceptions.
