I noticed it too. I'm thinking they wanted to say that not every NPC sorority will be in attendance, but it does start to back-pedal on alleviating the stigma of informal rush.

As far as I know, every NPC chapter at Iowa was at total except one and maybe a 2nd one in the fall, so any recruitment is due to attrition. Unfortunately, attrition is a problem so there are more spots open than I think should be.

And yes, how many times do we have to explain the difference between quota and total here? It is a confusing concept to a lot of people and I think there could have been a better way to say not all sororities will be participating. Or leaving it completely unsaid. It is just an informational session after all. Would it kill the girls to learn that upon arrival?

Changing subject, is it common for NPHC sororities to participate in this sort of mass session?
